Transcript of court proceedings during the trial of Stella Wright Rent Strike leaders Toby Henry and Rev. Thomas Comerford. The two tenant leaders were found guilty of contempt of court for re-distributing withheld rent back to tenants, rather than turning it over to the Newark Housing Authority which had failed to make repairs to the buildings. The 60 Day Interim Rent Strike Settlement (May 31, 1973)
Statement summarizing the progress and developments following a temporary settlement agreement reached by the Newark Housing Authority and the striking tenants of Newark’s public housing projects during the Stella Wright Rent Strike. The agreement was reached in April 1973, but quickly fell through after the NHA failed to uphold their end of the bargain.
